Our friends at SWIFDI (SouthWest International Folk Dance Institute) will be holding the 33rd New Mexico August Folk Dance Camp from August 3 to August 6, 2017 in Montezuma, New Mexico.
Teachers this year:
- Andy Taylor-Blenis’ folk-dance pioneer parents introduced her to dance while she was still in the womb. Carrying on the family tradition, Andy will treat campers to some of her favorite social and couple dances from around the world.
- Miroslav Marcetic was previously at New Mexico August Camp in 2003. The Serbian native affectionately known as “Bata” will share more of his beautiful line dances with campers this year.
There will also be live music, parties, children's program, and more. Find out all the details SWIFDI's site!
*If you plan on going and are traveling from Colorado, check in with folks at BIFD for carpooling options and general information about August camp! We have a long standing relationship with SWIFDI and quite a few dancers from Front Range head to New Mexico every summer.
